I started doing this as a simple mashgiach back in 2016, my first trip was when a friend who was doing similar work was double booked and needed a mashgiach as he couldn’t do the trip , he spoke to the agent and the rest they say is history. We still work with this agent for all his kosher clients.That was the first of many trips. From there I was able to travel all over South Africa upper and lower Kruger area, game lodges in Welgevonden, Sabie and many more.Then the agent branching into the rest of Africa Tanzania, Kenya, Botswana, Zimbabwe and I have been privileged to see some incredible places in Africa.
This year I am going to Spain, France and Saint Thomas Island with a repeat client.
In 2018 there was more work than I could do alone, the clients also wanted a cook, so my mother started doing some trips as both a mashgiach and a cook. In 2022 it became apparent we couldn’t cope on our own we decided to partially formalise the business to offer these services and contract out to other chefs and mashgichim, This year we registered as a formal business and are thankfully already taking bookings all the way to December.
I work as a mashgiach for a B’Datz Haredi factory here in South Africa when they do a kosher run. This launch is our biggest adventure to date, and hopefully will lead to more business.
To relax I play video games and airsoft when I am not travelling.
